To celebrate World Judo Day, we organized a two day seminar titled “Exchange of international experiences” supported by the National Judo Federation of Serbia, City of Sombor and Bačka Judo Club from Sombo, as well as the Judo Federation of Slovenia.
At the opening of the seminar, Mayor of Sombor Dušanka stated:
- This is an important topic for our city, primarily because like all local self-governments, we want to achieve full equality of all our citizens and that is why, for years now, we have been undertaking various activities to manage to achieve that for children and persons with disabilities, and that is why this is a good project when it comes to the inclusive aspect. The City of Sombor always considered sport activities and raising the level and intensity of sport in our city to be important. However, in addition to sport results, it is also important that it becomes a popular activity, so this is important for sport - said the Mayor of Sombor. She added: - Today has been one year since we began to actively participate in the realization of this project, and we can be proud of the results in terms of inclusive judo, and we hope that after these two days of quality lectures and exchanges of experiences, we will have good guidelines for how to continue to do so in the future, and how to remain a leader when it comes to inclusive judo. We expect that we, as the local self-government, will get directions on how to affirm other sport branches to, in such a socially responsible and different way - said Mayor of Sombor Dušanka Golubović.
